Ventura County Fire Department flies a fleet of Sikorsky HH-60L Blackhawk helicopters converted into firefighting aircraft called Firehawks. These Firehawks provide not only medical transport services (EMS) but also crucial support for firefighting, search and rescue, and other emergency situations across Ventura County, California. The Firehawks are modified to perform multiple tasks. They have a belly tank that can carry 1,000 gallons of water for fire suppression.
