Royal Australian Air Force Hawker Siddeley HS 748 Information
The Hawker Siddeley HS 748 stands as a testament to British aviation prowess, crafted by Hawker Siddeley Aviation. Between 1967 and 1972, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) integrated 12 of these aircraft into its fleet, leveraging them for both military transport missions and VIP transport duties. Throughout its service, the HS-748 proved instrumental in bolstering RAAF operations across the Asia-Pacific region. However, in 1988, the RAAF bid farewell to the HS-748 as it retired from active duty. Subsequently, ten of the twelve aircraft found new homes with other airlines, while the remaining two proudly reside on display at the Royal Australian Air Force Museum in Point Cook, Victoria.
