The C-27J Spartan seamlessly integrates with the existing air mobility fleet of the Australian Defence Force. Australia received its first Spartan in 2015. The 10-strong fleet is operated by No. 35 Squadron, stationed at RAAF Base Amberley. The C-27J's capabilities effectively bridge the gap between the functionalities of army helicopters and larger air force aircraft.
