Australian Army Sikorsky S-70A Blackhawk Information
In 1986, Australia initiated the acquisition of its Black Hawk fleet, placing an initial order for fourteen S-70A-9 models. This was followed by a subsequent order for twenty-five additional Black Hawks in 1987. The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) received the first US-produced Black Hawk in 1987. De Havilland Australia, operating under license from Sikorsky, manufactured thirty-eight Black Hawks within the country. Production commenced in 1988 with the final delivery completed in 1991. Notably, the RAAF transferred its Black Hawk fleet to the Australian Army in 1989.
