Australian Air Force BAE Systems Hawk 127 Information
In the early 1970s, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) embarked on a mission to find a suitable replacement for the Macchi MB-326H jet trainer. This quest culminated in November 1996 with the announcement of the BAE Systems Hawk 127 as the chosen successor. The Hawk 127 officially entered RAAF service in October 2000. The RAAF employs the Hawk 127 lead-in fighter in a dual role, serving as both a jet trainer for aspiring pilots and a fast jet conversion aircraft for experienced aviators transitioning to advanced jets.
